Why should you insulate?
Heating & cooling account for 50-70% of the energy used in the average
North American home. Unless your home was constructed with special
attention to energy efficiency, adding insulation will probably reduce your
utility bills. If your home is older than approximately 15 years, and the
insulation hasn't been upgraded, adding a blanket of blown cellulose fibre
insulation above your existing attic insulation will save on your energy costs!
The cost of adding insulation will pay for itself in a few years, will continue to
save you money during all the years you own the house, and will add to the
resale value of your home!
